The 2004 Obsidian is deep red in the glass and offers aromas and flavours of plums, cassis, wild berries and classy oak. The palate shows great structure and length. The tannins are bountiful, yet polished and the wine's acid/fruit balance is perfect, giving the wine a sweet core of fruit and a long finish. This wine is already approachable, but also has all of the hallmarks of cellarability. Winemaker's notes May 2006
